  • Panel Report received for Amendment GC42

    Darebin and Manningham City Councils have received the Panel’s report on Amendment GC42 to the Darebin and Manningham Planning Schemes following the Panel Hearing on 6 June 2016.

    The Panel are supportive of the Amendment to introduce ESD policies into the two Planning Schemes, concluding that it “is both sound and strategically justified”.

    Darebin City Council will consider the Panel’s report at its meeting on 15 August 2016.

  • Amendment C136 submitted to the Minister for Planning for Approval

    Amendment C136 - St Georges Road Corridor - has been sent to the Minister for Planning for consideration of approval. When a decision will be made is unknown at this stage, but Council is working with department staff to assist where possible and is hoping a decision will be made by mid August.   • Amendment GC42 - Current Status of Amendment

    Darebin and Manningham Councils on 18th April 2016 and 26th April 2016 respectively, considered all submissions received in relation to the GC42 amendment and resolved to request that the Minister for Planning appoint an Independent Panel under Part 8 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987, to consider all submissions.

This Amendment was presented to Council at the Meeting of 4 April 2016, and will be acted upon once the Council minutes have been ratified. Please note this Amendment is to be submitted directly to the Minister for approval and as such there is no public consultation or opportunity for submissions.

    Due to a pending legal matter, Council has not been able to submit the adopted Amendment C136 to the Minister for Planning to date. Council is currently working on resolving the matter and will provide an update once more information becomes available. In the meantime, C136 will need to be considered alongside the current Planning Scheme requirements. The adopted documents and Council changes are in the Council Minutes from the 7 September 2015.
